V-辞書形 + べからざる + NUnacceptable; that should not be
The attributive (noun-modifying) form of 'べからず'. It describes a noun as being something that must not be done or is absolutely indispensable (as in '欠くべからざる').
Common mistakes
- Using 'べからず' (terminal form) before a noun instead of 'べからざる'
- Incorrectly using it with 'aru' to mean 'should not exist' (use 'まじき' for that)
- Misunderstanding '欠くべからざる' which means 'indispensable' (positive nuance)
