1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using JLPT Mastery ("the Service"), operated at jlptmastery.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Account Responsibilities

When you create an account with JLPT Mastery, you agree to the following:

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and any activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
• You may not use another person's account without their permission.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the Service.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other user accounts, or any related systems or networks.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers and networks connected to the Service.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service for any purpose without our prior written consent.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
• Use the Service to send unsolicited communications or spam.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding user-generated content), features, and functionality are owned by JLPT Mastery and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The JLPT vocabulary and grammar data presented on the Service is compiled from publicly available educational resources for study purposes.

"JLPT" and "Japanese-Language Proficiency Test" are trademarks of the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES). JLPT Mastery is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the Japan Foundation or JEES.

5. Service Plans and Pricing

JLPT Mastery currently offers a free tier that provides access to the core study features. We may introduce paid plans with additional features in the future. If paid plans are introduced, we will provide advance notice of pricing and feature changes. Free-tier features available at the time of your registration will continue to be available at no charge, though we reserve the right to modify feature availability with reasonable notice.

6. User Data

Your study progress, practice session data, and mastery states are your data. You retain ownership of your personal study data. We use this data solely to provide and improve the Service as described in our Privacy Policy. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from the account settings page.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee any specific results from using the Service, including passing the JLPT exam. Study materials are provided for educational purposes and may contain errors.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JLPT Mastery and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use of or inability to use the Service.
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and any personal information stored therein.
• Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service.
• Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in the study materials or content provided through the Service.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may also terminate your account at any time by deleting it from the account settings page.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, please stop using the Service.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tokyo, Japan.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.
